Chopping Wood (Kashtha Cchindana)

Steps

  • Stand with your legs about hip width apart

  • Keep your knees slightly bent to avoid strain in the lower back

  • Clasp your hands in front of you

  • Inhale through your nose and raise your arms over head and slightly back with your hands still clasped

  • Exhale through your mouth, press your tailbone back and fold forward from your hips dropping your hands between your legs

  • Continue this “chopping” movement 10-15 times

Return to standing position and lower your arms
